Men's & Women's Homes
Step 1: Submit an Application

Release of Information for your current/recent treatment provider (if applicable).

Current Substance Use Disorder Evaluation (within the past 6 months) indicating ASAM Level 3.1 placement. Don't have a recent evaluation? No problem - we can help schedule one for you.
Complete our online application. Or download the paper application and submit by email to admissions@buttespirit.org.

Steps 2-4: Interview to Move In

Interview:
We'll contact you to schedule an interview and drug/alcohol screening. We'll talk about your recovery goals and answer your questions about the homes and program.

Prepare for move-in.
Provide a negative TB test and COVID-19 screening, and complete an initial assessment with our Licensed Addictions Counselor.

Move in. Move-ins are scheduled Tuesday–Friday. You'll tour the home with the Residence Manager, receive your Resident Handbook and house rules, and join the house for a family-style dinner.
Important Notes

Sobriety requirement: All applicants must have
at least 30 days
clean and sober at the time of application

Zero tolerance Substance use during residency leads to referral to a higher level of care or discharge

No detox services: We do not provide detox. Applicants must be stable in early recovery.

If you have a Montana CONNECT online referral system account, referrals are also available for Butte SPIRIT Home through Montana CONNECT.
Financial Assistance Available (Clinical Homes Only)
We believe finances should not be a barrier to recovery. Financial assistance is available for qualifying residents' first month.
To apply for financial assistance:

Applying to the Step-Down Home
6 + Months Clean & Sober
Non-clinical (NARR Level 2)

Step 1: Submit an Application

Complete our online application. This is the fastest way to apply and saves our staff time processing your information.

Alternative: If you prefer, you can download the paper application, complete it, and submit via email to admissions@buttespirit.org.
Steps 2-4: Interview to Move In

Interview. We'll contact you to schedule an interview and drug/alcohol screening. We'll talk about your recovery, your goals, and how the home's self-governing community works.

Acceptance. Once accepted, your move-in happens within 48 hours.

Move in. You'll get an orientation walkthrough of the home and handbook, complete your intake forms together with staff (emergency contacts, recovery plan, fee agreement), and meet your housemates.

Sober home: The home is drug- and alcohol-free. Concerns are addressed through targeted testing and a safety-plan process.

No detox services: We do not provide detox. Applicants must be stable in their recovery.
